This policy covers how Real South African Sign Language, ("RealSasl," "The Realsasl company," "we," "us," or "our") treats personal information that ("RealSasl," "The Realsasl company,"  "we," "us," or "our") collects and receives on www.realsasl.com, sites, and applications related to RealSasl. This notice informs (tells) you what information we collect, the steps we take to protect and secure it, how we use and share information, and finally, how you can contact us with questions or concerns.

USER: is a person who uses the realsasl application or website or related products.

STUDENT: is a user that utilises the realsasl application or website to schedule lessons or to learn from.

TUTOR, also known as an ASSISTANT TUTOR, PROFESSIONAL TEACHER, or SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER:  is a user that utilises the realsasl application or website to teach, schedule lessons or learn from.

1.  Information We Collect

1.1 Data you provide to us

As a user or student.

When you register with us, use RealSasl products or services, or when you post Content such as videos on RealSasl site or application, then RealSasl collects the following personal information:

name, e-mail, and password, Skype® or Zoom® username, language preferences, ethnic background, whether you are Deaf or hard of hearing or hearing, and time zone location.  

As a tutor, assistant tutor, professional teacher, or Sign Language interpreter.

When you register with us as a tutor, teacher, assistant teacher, Sign Language interpreter and use RealSasl products or services, or when you post Content such as videos on RealSasl site or application then RealSasl collects the following personal information:

name, e-mail, and password, Skype® or Zoom® username, language preferences, ethnic background, banking details, whether you are Deaf or hard of hearing or hearing and time zone location.  

If you sign up as a teacher, tutor, assistant tutor, or Sign Language interpreter, you have choices about the information you add in your profile, such as your résumé, banking details. Additional details on profiles will assist other students/teachers/users in knowing more about your experience and work history. It is up to you whether to include sensitive information or not. Please do not post or add personal data to your profile that you would not want to be publicly available. You also have a choice of whether to add your banking details on the APP or not.  Realsasl admin can only see banking details, and we will never request your pin.  Please never provide your secret bank pin to anyone.

RealSasl may also collect information about your payment transactions with us and with some of our business partners. This information might include the information required to process your due payments to us, such as your credit card number.

1.2 Service Use

We may log usage data from your browser when you visit or use our site or application. We use log-ins, cookies, and internet protocol ("IP") addresses to identify you and log your use and the pages you request.

1.3 Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies (e.g., pixels and ad tags) to recognize you and/or your device(s) on, off, and across different devices. We also allow some others to use cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings and other tools.

1.4 Messages

We collect information about you when you send, receive, or engage with the Realsasl APP in connection with our Services. For example, if you make a booking on the Realsasl APP or get a booking request or if a booking you made was canceled or if money to you was refunded, we might notify you about it.  The form of messages you might receive include but are not limited to push notifications, e-mail, Whatsapp®, telephone conversations, Skype® or Zoom®.

2. How We Use Information


RealSasl uses information for the following general purposes: products and services provision, billing, identification and authentication, services improvement, contact, research, and anonymous reporting.

2.1 Our Services

RealSasl may use your personal information where it is necessary to complete a transaction, to operate or improve the RealSasl products and services, or to do something that you have asked us to do.

Our services allow you to find and connect with other language learners (If you are a tutor, teacher, assistant teacher, or Sign Language interpreter) or allow you to find and connect with other language teachers (if you are a learner.) RealSasl will display your name and any other user-submitted profile information on your profile according to the information you were where willing to share.

2.2 Communications

We may send you service, technical and administrative e-mails, messages, and other types of communications in connection with any of our paid products and services. These communications are considered part of the RealSasl account, and you may not opt-out of them. We might also send you teacher suggestions, learning articles, and other promotional messages.

Full names may be used when a user invites a friend via e-mail to join RealSasl and when RealSasl sends notifications to a user related to their use of RealSasl.

Your lesson will be conducted outside the application on platforms such as Skype® and Zoom®. When you make a booking with a tutor, teacher, assistant teacher, or Sign Language interpreter on the Realsasl APP, then your Skype® or Zoom® usernames will be available to the tutor, teacher, assistant teacher or Sign Language interpreter who you made a booking with. Providing this information is essential because it allows tutors, teachers, assistant teachers, and Sign Language professionals to contact you when your lesson starts.

2.3 Security

We may use your data (including your communications) if we think it's necessary for security purposes or to monitor and prevent possible fraud or other violations of our User Agreement or this Privacy Policy and/or attempts to harm our Visitors and Members.

2.4 Advertising

Advertisements appearing on and off the RealSasl Sites, Products or Services and may be delivered to users by RealSasl or one of our Web advertising partners using the following data:

Information from cookies, pixels or ad tags (such as browser type and IP address)
User-provided information (e.g., learning a language)
Information from your use of our services (e.g., pages visited, lessons taken)
RealSasl does not share any personally identifiable information with advertisers. RealSasl may share general demographic information (such as aggregated statistics about members' language interests) and non-personally identifiable information (such as browser type and IP addresses) with advertisers and partners.

RealSasl does not give advertisers access to your individual personal account information.

3. How We Share and Disclose Information


RealSasl does not share personal information we learn about you from your use of the RealSasl web sites and APP, products, and services with others except as described in this policy.

When you provide personal information through using RealSasl, you are, however, sharing your personal information with RealSasl and its affiliated entities. The use of your personal information by these organizations is subject to this policy.

3.1 Our Services

RealSasl will display your "Display Name" on your profile. RealSasl will show your name and any other user-submitted profile information on your profile according to the preferences you set in your account.

E-mail addresses and full names may be used when a user invites a friend via e-mail to join RealSasl and when RealSasl sends notifications to a user related to their use of RealSasl.

When you post a message on a RealSasl Site or Application, you have the ability to post a message which may include personally identifiable information about yourself.

RealSasl may share your personal information where it is necessary to complete a transaction or to operate.

3.2 Service providers

In the course of operating our business, it may be necessary or appropriate for us to provide access to your personal information to others such as our service providers, contractors, and select vendors so that we can operate RealSasl and our business.

3.3 Compliance with Laws

We may share your personal information to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal processes, to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims, and if in our judgment in such circumstances disclosure is required or appropriate.

We may share your personal information if we believe it is necessary in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our various terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.

3.4 Change to RealSasl's Business

As we continue to develop our business, we may also buy or sell all or part of our business. In such transactions, personally identifiable information you have shared with us is generally one of the business assets that will be transferred. The transferred personally identifiable information will remain subject to the promises made in this privacy policy or subsequent policies to which you have consented.

3.5 With consent

RealSasl may share information with third parties when we have explicit consent to do. It will be clear at the point of collection who is collecting the personal information and whose privacy statement will apply.

4. Cookie Policy


A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes a unique anonymous identifier that is sent to your browser from a web site's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive.
If you reject all cookies, you may not be able to use RealSasl services or products that require you to "sign-in" and you may not be able to take full advantage of all offerings.
You can configure your browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set.
RealSasl uses its own cookies for several purposes, including to:
Require you to re-enter your password after a certain period has elapsed to protect you against others accidentally accessing your account contents.
Keep track of preferences you specify while you are using the RealSasl Sites, Products, and Services.
Estimate and report our total audience size and traffic.
Conduct research to improve the Content and services provided on the RealSasl Sites, Products, and Services.
Ensure that visitors are not repeatedly offered the same advertisements and to customize advertising based on browser type and user profile information.
RealSasl lets other entities that show advertisements or provide services on some of our web pages set and access their cookies on your computer. Other entities' use of their cookies is subject to their privacy policies and not this policy. Advertisers or other entities do not have access to RealSasl cookies. 


5. Information Relating to Children


Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important.  For that reason, if you are under 16 years of age, then please do not sign up as a tutor, teacher, assistant teacher, or Sign Language interpreter or upload any videos to the Realsasl APP or Website. You may use RealSasl APP and Website to search the dictionary service only.


6. Third-Party Advertising


Advertisements appearing on the RealSasl Sites, Products or Services may be delivered to users by RealSasl or one of our Web advertising partners. Our Web advertising partners may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement. In this way, ad servers may compile information about where you, or others who are using your computer, saw their advertisements, and determine which ads are clicked on. This information allows an ad network to deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This privacy policy covers the use of cookies by RealSasl and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

RealSasl does not share any personally identifiable information with advertisers. RealSasl may share general demographic information (such as aggregated statistics about members' interests and occupations) and non-personally identifiable information (such as browser type and IP addresses) with advertisers and partners. RealSasl does not give advertisers access to your individual personal account information. However, by selecting, interacting with, or viewing an ad, you are consenting to the possibility that the advertiser will assume that you meet the targeting criteria used to display the ad.

7. Changes to this Privacy Policy


RealSasl may revise, modify, or update this policy. We may notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary e-mail address specified in your particular RealSasl account or by placing a prominent notice on our site. You are encouraged to check this policy frequently for any changes as your continued use of the RealSasl service indicates your consent to such changes.

8. Confidentiality and Security


No data transmissions over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Consequently, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we take reasonable measures to secure it on our systems.

If RealSasl learns of a security breach, we may attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps. By using RealSasl or providing personal information to us, you agree that we can communicate with you electronically regarding security, privacy, and administrative issues relating to your use of those sites, products, and services. We may post a notice on our applicable web sites if a security breach occurs. If this happens, you will need a web browser enabling you to view the relevant web sites. We may also send an e-mail to you at the e-mail address you have provided to us in these circumstances.

9. Managing your Preferences and Personal Information


You can edit your account information on the RealSasl APP. You can also ask our customer service to change, update, or fix data. Some personal information you may provide is entirely optional. We do not request additional personal information from minors.

10. International Users


The RealSasl web site and APP is hosted in Singapore and intended for and directed to users around the world. We may transfer your personal data to countries other than the one in which you live. We may also change servers if we found it creates a better and faster user experience. We might also, in the future, make use of a 'CDN' (A content delivery network). A CDN makes copies of the Realsasl website and databases and distributes it to places around the world to improve accessibility, speed, and user experience.

Our server host uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software to encrypt the information you enter on our site in order to protect its security during transmission to and from our site.

Although they take all measures to maintain the safety and security of your personal information, please note that no transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100 % secure. Consequently, please note that we cannot fully guarantee the security of any personal information that you transfer over the Internet to us.  

11. Copyright Policy


11.1 Removal of Material for Which Copyright Infringement is Claimed

If any videos uploaded to the Realsasl.com website or the Realsasl Application (APP), is found to infringe any copyright, it will immediately be removed. 

11.2 Original Work
All videos submitted or uploaded to RealSasl website or Application (APP) must be your own or you must have written permission from the owner before you can submit or upload it.

11.3 Publishing Rights
RealSasl reserves exclusive First Electronic Rights for videos globally. RealSasl has the right to publish and republish the video(s) you upload, on the RealSasl website, RealSasl Applications, e-mail, as a downloadable file, or any other digital media.
Videos you submit could also be used in RealSasl marketing materials.
RealSasl reserves the right to publish or not publish any content that is submitted or uploaded.
Archival Rights:
RealSasl reserves the right to republish your video(s) and keep it accessible for visitors for an indefinite period of time.
Editing and Formatting Rights:
RealSasl company reserves the right to edit and reformat the final version of your video(s). RealSasl will not change the meaning or alter the substance of the piece but may edit the footage for errors and wording.
Realsasl reserves the right to reformat the video for the web, mobile and other applications.


12. Community Policy


12.1 Introduction to Community Policy
RealSasl's Community Policy help ensures that RealSasl is a safe place where language learners from all over the world can connect and help each other learn Sign Language or help Deaf learners learn other Languages or skills.

RealSasl's default position is not to delete, censor, or edit users; however, there are cases in which RealSasl may take extraordinary steps in response to violations of the Community Policy, the Terms of Service, and other policies.

These actions can include:
* Deleting or banning users
* Editing or removing Content

12.2 Community Conduct Policy
12.2.1 Do NOT Post or Send Commercial Advertisements: Do not post or comment for commercial purposes.

12.2.3 Do NOT Search for a Romantic Relationship: Do not contact other RealSasl members for dating, or to find sexual partners. RealSasl considers this harassment.

RealSasl takes reports of unwanted sexual advances very seriously.

12.2.4 Do NOT Harass, Bully, or Stalk: RealSasl does not tolerate harassment, bullying, or stalking. RealSasl will take action on all reports of abusive behavior.

12.2.5 Do NOT Create False Identities: Claiming to be another person, creating a false presence for an organization, or creating multiple accounts is not allowed. Duplicate, fake, and joke profiles are not allowed.

13. Community Content Policy


User-Generated Content that falls into any of the following categories is prohibited, and RealSasl will remove this Content. Any RealSasl user that violates RealSasl policies can and will be removed from the RealSasl system.

13.1 Hate Speech and Offensive Language
RealSasl does not permit hate speech or offensive language. We do not permit users to attack others based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or medical condition.

13.2 Commercial or Promotional Content
We ask that you respect our members by not contacting them for commercial purposes without their consent. In addition, do not make comments that are solely for commercial purposes since this detracts from, and does not add any value to the Sign language-learning community.

13.3 Sexual and Pornographic Content or Exploitation
RealSasl has a strict policy against the sharing of pornographic Content and any sexually explicit content. We also impose limitations on the display of nudity.

13.4 Personally Identifiable Information RealSasl does not allow publishing a user's personal information without a person's consent.

13.5 Pirated Content
RealSasl does not allow users to share Content on RealSasl, where they do not have the right to do so. We ask that you respect copyrights, trademarks, and other legal rights.

13.6 Political or Religious Discussions
RealSasl does not permit discussions or graphics relating to political or religious events or groups. Politics and religion are sensitive topics that often lead to polarizing and hateful comments. It is our position not to have these types of discussions on a site that is meant for language learning.

13.7 Violence & Exploitation
We remove Content when we think there is a risk of physical harm or a threat to public or individual safety. You may not threaten others, or suggest acts of violence. We do not allow promoting, planning, or celebrating any actions if they could result in harm to others, including theft and vandalism.

13.8 Self-Harm
RealSasl takes threats of self-harm seriously. We remove any promotion or encouragement of self-mutilation, eating disorders, or drug abuse.

13.9 Defamation
The RealSasl company reserves the right to remove any defamatory content and take action against those who intend (or would reasonably be expected) to harm the RealSasl company or its brand, including the images and reputations of its respective employees, agents, and officers. Such harm includes any action which would be reasonably expected to lead to any negative impact and or any unwanted or unfavorable publicity to the company, brand, employees, agents, or officers.
